Prudence Crandall Center provides coordinated support for women, men, and children who have experienced domestic violence. Its services include emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy, support groups, and referrals related to legal services, housing, and mental health or substance-use needs.
The organization also offers housing programs intended to support longer-term stability. Transitional living and permanent supportive housing are paired with case management, counseling, educational and career training, financial literacy workshops, budgeting support, and job-search assistance. These services are designed to help individuals and families work toward safety, healing, and greater independence.
Prudence Crandall Center has worked in Connecticut for more than 50 years and also provides prevention, outreach, and professional training related to domestic violence. Visit the official emergency shelter page for program information. Connecticut residents can also review state housing assistance resources and federal assistance resources, then confirm current details directly with the organization.
