Summit’s Sanctuary

Summit’s Sanctuary is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal rescue serving Northeast Alabama and Northwest Georgia. Located in Leesburg, the organization provides comfort, compassion, and care to dogs in need, with a mission centered on preventing animals from being endangered or abandoned.

Founded in honor of Summit, a Labrador Retriever whose life as a certified therapy dog touched children and families, the sanctuary carries forward his legacy by rescuing, rehabilitating, and advocating for animals. Summit’s Sanctuary rescues dogs of all breeds and helps connect them with appropriate forever homes.

The organization’s website provides information about adoptable dogs and ways to support its work through fostering, volunteering, and wish-list contributions. Visit the official Summit’s Sanctuary website for details, and consult NHREA’s Alabama assistance resources or federal assistance resources for broader support information.
