Heart of Alabama: Save, Rescue, Adopt

Heart of Alabama: Save, Rescue, Adopt (HASRA) is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue based at 4101 US-72 in Killen. The organization works with the community to take in dogs that might otherwise end up at animal control facilities, be left roaming, or remain homeless.

HASRA focuses on protecting and improving the quality of life for dogs that have been abandoned, neglected, abused, relinquished, or found homeless. Its mission emphasizes rescue in times of crisis, support for North Alabama animal shelters, and helping saved animals become loving companions through adoption. The organization also describes volunteers and foster caregivers as important parts of its rescue efforts, and its website provides information about adoptable animals and the adoption process.
