Badass Animal Rescue, Inc.

Based in Brooklyn, New York, Badass Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue founded in March 2011. Its mission is to rescue and rehabilitate loving, adoptable dogs from high-kill, rural shelters, with particular attention to vulnerable dogs from underserved communities in the southern United States and U.S. Virgin Islands. The organization says it does not discriminate by breed, age, size, or medical history.

After rescue, dogs receive veterinary care that may include spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing and treatment, preventatives, and—in some cases—surgery or specialist care. Badass Animal Rescue does not operate a shelter; foster families provide care and training while dogs are prepared for adoption. The organization also offers resources on responsible rescue, spay/neuter, and training.
