Description

YWCA Central Alabama is a social justice organization whose mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Its work includes community housing, domestic violence services, child development, and advocacy.

The organization’s housing and shelter programs support women, children, and families experiencing homelessness through safe accommodation, case management, safety planning, and assistance with goals such as employment, economic self-sufficiency, and securing permanent housing. YWCA Central Alabama also provides domestic violence services in Jefferson, Blount, and St. Clair counties, including support for survivors and their children.

Its nationally accredited Child Development Center serves homeless, low-income, and working-class families. For additional housing information, see NHREA’s Alabama homeless assistance resources and federal assistance resources. Visit the official shelter-services page to confirm current program details.
