Description

Founded in 1965, Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) is dedicated to reducing barriers, eliminating poverty, and improving the overall well-being of individuals and families throughout the region. As the sole provider in Strafford County offering a full suite of supportive programs, CAPSC plays a critical role in ensuring that children, seniors, and people with low incomes have access to resources that promote stability, health, and dignity.
Through education, advocacy, and strong community partnerships, CAPSC provides essential services that make a measurable impact on daily life. Programs address a wide range of needs including food security, early childhood education, child care, housing assistance, utility support such as heating and electricity, emergency shelter, transportation, and connections to health and social services. Without these vital programs, many local residents would struggle to meet even their most basic needs.
The mission of CAPSC goes beyond immediate relief. By empowering individuals to build economic stability and self-sufficiency, the organization works to create brighter, stronger futures not only for its clients but also for the greater community. Every program is designed to uphold the intrinsic dignity of each person served, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the wellbeing of Strafford County.
With nearly six decades of service, CAPSC continues to be a cornerstone of support, delivering compassionate, comprehensive solutions to fight poverty and uplift the most vulnerable residents of the region.
