Description

The St. Francis House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has been a place of hope and healing since it first opened its doors in 1987. Founded by Bishop Paul Dudley and Pastor David Holm, the mission began at the Little Flower Convent and was created to welcome individuals and families of all backgrounds experiencing homelessness. Over the years, the St. Francis House has grown into one of Sioux Falls’ most trusted nonprofit organizations, providing shelter, meals, and supportive services that empower guests to rebuild their lives.
In 2018, a community-driven capital campaign made it possible to expand services to meet the growing need. By December 2019, a new state-of-the-art facility opened with 135 beds and 7 dedicated family units, offering safe housing, stability, and resources to help residents transition toward independent living. More than just a homeless shelter, the St. Francis House is a vital part of the Sioux Falls community, committed to restoring dignity, fostering self-sufficiency, and providing a pathway to a brighter future for all who walk through its doors.
