Urban Pathways

Founded in 1975, Urban Pathways works to address homelessness in New York City through a Housing First approach that recognizes secure housing as a foundation for improved quality of life and long-term stability.

Its housing programs include Apartment Treatment, Extended-Stay Community Residence, Permanent Supportive Housing, and rapid rehousing. Services are tailored to individual needs and may include case management, healthcare coordination, mental health and substance use support, life-skills training, and connections to community resources. Urban Pathways also offers employment assistance through its UPwards Employment Program, including job-readiness, resume and job-search support, workplace coaching, and retention assistance. Its Total Wellness Program connects residents with community healthcare and provides health education on topics such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, blood pressure, and diabetes.
