Friends of Homeless Animals of RI

Friends of Homeless Animals of RI, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs, cats, and occasional small animals. Founded in 2007, the organization works through foster homes, where animals receive care, attention, socialization, and training while they await adoption.

FOHARI’s volunteers coordinate animal transports, owner rehoming requests, and rescues from shelters when animals need additional medical or supportive care. The organization also provides educational resources for adopters, including guidance on helping a fearful dog adjust gradually and building trust through patience and positive experiences.
