Description

At Advocates for the Homeless (AHH) in Kansas City, our mission is to reduce both the need for and cost of care for people experiencing homelessness by addressing root causes and eliminating service gaps.

We accomplish this by:

Providing aid with respect and compassion,

Advocating for individuals seeking to leave the streets,

Raising awareness of homelessness issues,

Collaborating with existing agencies rather than duplicating their services.

Often referred to as the “safety net for the safety net”, AHH fills crucial gaps in the local support network—streamlining access, removing barriers, and improving outcomes for homeless individuals, families, and partner agencies alike.

By combining personal advocacy, community education, and efficient resource coordination, AHH shapes a more effective and human-centered homelessness response system in Kansas City.
