Description

Homeless Garden Project is a Santa Cruz nonprofit that provides job training, transitional employment, and support services for people experiencing homelessness. Its work is centered on an urban organic farm, where trainees develop skills through stewardship, conservation, and regenerative agriculture while building pathways toward stability and employment.

The organization also connects trainees with social work support and community resources related to health care, legal needs, transportation, shelter, housing, and personal goals. Volunteers, interns, customers, and trainees participate in shared activities that promote community connection, environmental stewardship, and a stronger local food system.
