HomeFront began in the spring of 1988 with its first event focused on addressing urgent home repair needs in Norwalk, completing 16 projects that inaugural year. Since then, HomeFront has grown significantly, mobilizing over 2,900 volunteer teams to complete nearly 3,000 projects across approximately 150 communities spanning four Connecticut and two New York counties. With over $40 million in donated products and services, HomeFront relies on the generosity of financial donors, skilled volunteers, and construction professionals to deliver critical home repairs to low-income homeowners. In 2010, HomeFront became an independent organization, intensifying its efforts to address housing challenges and improve the quality of life for vulnerable families close to home.
