New Friends Homeless Center – Serving with Compassion, Community, and Dignity in Encino and Woodland Hills
New Friends Homeless Center is a welcoming, inclusive, and faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding, uplifting, and empowering individuals experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or hardship in Encino, Woodland Hills, and surrounding areas of Los Angeles County. Made up entirely of volunteers from diverse backgrounds, religions, and cultures, New Friends Homeless Center creates a space where compassion meets action, and where every guest is treated with dignity, care, and respect.

At the heart of New Friends Homeless Center’s mission is a commitment to nourishing the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Every Friday night and Sunday afternoon, the organization hosts community meal services featuring a freshly-prepared, four-course, restaurant-style meal served in a welcoming sit-down environment. These events are more than just meals—they are experiences filled with warmth, live entertainment, and connection. Guests include unhoused individuals, veterans, senior citizens, people with disabilities or special needs, the food insecure, and even their beloved pets.

Each gathering includes live performances from singers, dancers, comedians, and musicians, all of whom volunteer their time to bring joy and celebration to guests. Monthly birthday celebrations remind every person that their life has value, regardless of their current situation. Before leaving for the night, guests receive hygiene kits, pet food, clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, and other essential supplies to help them survive and feel cared for.

New Friends Homeless Center also proudly runs its Family Giveback Program at both meal service locations. This special initiative allows local families to actively participate in giving back to the community by setting up donation tables and distributing much-needed goods directly to guests. It’s an opportunity for adults and children alike to build empathy, foster connection, and become part of the solution to homelessness.
