Description

Housing Program Description – Colorado Coalition for the Homeless

At the core of a healthy and fulfilling life is stable housing, and that is why the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is dedicated to providing affordable, permanent housing solutions to thousands of individuals and families throughout Colorado. Each year, the Coalition operates 24 high-quality permanent supportive and affordable housing properties, and administers nearly 2,000 housing vouchers, supporting over 4,400 households in a state where affordable housing is increasingly scarce.

Beyond simply providing a roof, the Coalition emphasizes comprehensive wrap-around supportive services such as counseling, life skills training, financial literacy programs, and employment assistance to empower residents to maintain safe, stable, and independent living environments. Utilizing the nationally recognized Housing First approach, which eliminates barriers to housing and prioritizes rapid placement combined with crisis intervention and intensive case management, individuals experiencing homelessness can quickly transition from the streets or shelters into permanent homes.

This Housing First model not only improves lives but also reduces city expenditures by preventing recurring homelessness. Since its founding over 40 years ago, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless has earned state and national recognition for its integrated healthcare, housing, and supportive service programs. Every year, the Coalition serves over 20,000 individuals and families, working tirelessly to prevent homelessness and promote long-term stability and well-being for vulnerable populations across Colorado.
