Always Home
Description
In 1997, a poignant moment sparked a mission when a woman, after losing her job, found herself homeless and spent three nights sleeping on the steps of Union Baptist Church in Mystic. Her heartfelt note left in the church’s collection basket revealed the fragile reality many face—just weeks earlier, she had stable housing. Inspired by stories like hers, Always Home was founded with a steadfast belief that every child deserves and needs a safe, stable place to call home.
Always Home is dedicated to preventing family homelessness throughout Eastern Connecticut by working closely with low-income families to break the cycle of housing insecurity. Our comprehensive programs empower parents with opportunities to improve financial stability, secure housing, and enhance overall well-being. By addressing the root causes of homelessness and eviction, Always Home strives to protect vulnerable children from the trauma and disruption caused by unstable living situations, emergency shelters, or homelessness itself.
Through community partnerships, advocacy, and personalized support, Always Home is committed to building stronger families and resilient communities. Our vision is a future where no child or family in Eastern Connecticut experiences the pain of homelessness, and every family has the foundation to thrive. Join us in supporting our mission to provide safe housing and lasting stability for families in need.
