Description

Since 1976, Amos House has been a vital part of Rhode Island’s nonprofit community, dedicated to serving homeless individuals, the unemployed, and those living in poverty. What began as a small soup kitchen has grown into a leading agency committed to helping people help themselves through vital services and results-oriented programs.
Meeting Community Needs with Compassion and Respect
At Amos House, community is the foundation of everything we do. Our mission is rooted in the belief that all people deserve dignity and respect and possess the inherent ability to succeed. We recognize the complex causes of poverty and strive to create innovative, effective responses to break the cycle of oppression, homelessness, and poverty.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism
Amos House acknowledges the impact of systemic racism and oppression on our communities. We are dedicated to educating ourselves, listening humbly to the voices of those we serve, and actively partnering to promote equity and justice. Everyone has a place at our table.
Join us in creating a stronger, more inclusive Rhode Island where all individuals can thrive.
