Community Friends of Santa Barbara is an all-volunteer nonprofit serving Santa Barbara County since 1948. Its programs support youth, seniors, health, and community needs, with a volunteer-run thrift shop helping fund the organization’s work. Learn more about its history and approach on the official About page.
Youth-focused efforts include school clothing support, college scholarships, and continued care for former foster youth in college. Health and outreach initiatives include dental-health education, support for adults with disabilities, and practical assistance for people in need.
Senior programs focus on connection and dignity. Community Friends hosts Friendship Luncheons and provides a Bookshelf delivery partnership with Goleta Public Library for homebound readers. Its youth auxiliary also funds and organizes a Faux Prom bringing teens and older adults together. Details are available on the official seniors assistance page.
