SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council) has been serving low-income families and individuals in Massachusetts since 1965. Founded in response to the War on Poverty, SMOC provides a wide range of programs including childcare, energy and weatherization assistance, domestic violence support through Voices Against Violence, WIC services, and resource centers. Through its subsidiary, the South Middlesex Non-Profit Housing Corporation, SMOC also develops and preserves affordable housing, integrating supportive services to help residents achieve stability, independence, and self-sufficiency.
