Description

The Flagstaff Family Food Center is a vital non-profit organization dedicated to combating food insecurity and promoting nutritional independence across Northern Arizona, serving Flagstaff and surrounding communities like Coconino, Yavapai, and Navajo Counties. With a mission of ‘Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, Every Day,’ they provide comprehensive hunger relief programs, including daily hot meals, emergency food box distribution, mobile pantry services, and support for other local non-profit agencies. Since opening on Christmas Day in 1991, and later merging with the Northern Arizona Food Bank in 2013, the Flagstaff Family Food Center has distributed millions of pounds of food and served over 1.8 million hot meals, significantly impacting food access for children, families, the working poor, disabled individuals, and the elderly. Beyond immediate food aid, they also focus on children’s literacy programs and food rescue initiatives, diverting food waste from landfills and providing fresh produce to those in need, making them a cornerstone of community well-being and sustainable food systems in the region.
