Friends Helping Friends LA

Friends Helping Friends LA grew from founder Jonathan L. Jones’s experience overcoming homelessness after moving to Los Angeles in 1977. The nonprofit provides a safe, home-like environment for people experiencing homelessness and for individuals seeking sober living support as they work toward more independent living.

Its supportive services help clients connect with benefits and mainstream resources that can be difficult to access without stable housing. The organization’s stated areas of support include counseling, medical services, food, transitional housing, and recovery-focused assistance.
