Description

HOPE’s Mission and History – Boulder County Homeless Outreach

During the bitter winter of 2006-2007, five individuals tragically lost their lives to exposure in Boulder County, spurring a dedicated group of concerned citizens to take immediate action. In response, this passionate community formed HOPE, a Longmont-based nonprofit officially established as a 501(c)(3) in June 2007, committed to providing year-round street outreach to homeless individuals.

Originally operated primarily by volunteers who remain an integral part of the organization today, HOPE has grown substantially with the addition of full-time and part-time staff, as well as a dedicated board of directors. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that the unhoused have access to a safe and stable home.

HOPE’s ongoing outreach and support services focus on building relationships, providing vital resources, and advocating for sustainable housing solutions throughout Boulder County. The organization continues to be driven by compassion, community engagement, and a commitment to ending homelessness one person at a time.
