Homeless Youth Connection (HYC) is an education-based program serving high school students ages 13–21 who are experiencing homelessness in Maricopa and Coconino counties. Students are identified by their schools under the McKinney-Vento Act, and HYC works to remove barriers to graduation and post-secondary success.
Youth coaches help students identify needs related to academics, health, housing, hygiene, employment, and independent living skills. HYC also offers host-family and transitional-living housing options, along with case management and comprehensive support designed to promote stability and preparation for independence. Learn more through HYC’s official youth resources.
Eligible students may receive assistance with housing referrals, educational expenses, vital documents, health insurance enrollment, medical costs, and post-graduation steps such as FAFSA and college application fees. An eligibility assessment is required, and services are provided at no cost to students, families, or schools. For additional housing resources, visit Arizona homeless assistance resources and federal assistance resources. Visit HYC’s official website to confirm current program details.
