The organization is governed by a committed volunteer board of directors, with a unique structure requiring that at least 51% of board members are consumers of JCCSI’s services. This community-centered governance model ensures that decision-making is informed by the voices of those directly impacted, fostering transparency, trust, and responsiveness in all operations.
JCCSI receives funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and holds Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status, which extends to health or health-related claims including medical malpractice claims for both the organization and its covered individuals. This status underlines JCCSI’s compliance with federal standards and commitment to providing safe, reliable healthcare.
