Description

La Puente Home is a nonprofit community resource in Alamosa supporting individuals and families facing homelessness, housing instability, hunger, or other crises. Its Community Shelter provides temporary lodging, meals, basic necessities, and individualized support related to housing, employment, and other goals. Shelter services have been part of La Puente’s work in the San Luis Valley since 1982. Learn more through the Community Shelter page.

Through Crisis Prevention, La Puente works with households at risk of homelessness and people transitioning from shelter. Support may include case management and assistance related to rent, utilities, energy, medical or crisis expenses, housing navigation, employment readiness, and essential documents, depending on the program and available resources. The organization also operates the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley, connecting community members with emergency food through a regional pantry network and related nutrition resources. Visit the Food Bank Network page for more information.

For additional housing-related resources, explore NHREA’s Colorado homeless assistance guide and federal assistance resources. Program details and access procedures may change, so consult La Puente Home’s official website before visiting or requesting support.
