Lincoln Center – Homeless Helping Homeless
Description
Homeless Helping Homeless is a grassroots community of currently and formerly homeless individuals—and the friends who support them—based in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Together, we form a network of mutual aid, solidarity, and compassion for those experiencing the daily realities of housing instability.
Our members live in a wide range of situations: under bridges, in the woods, parking ramps, garages, cars, shelters, rooming houses, or low-income housing. Some are temporarily staying with friends or rotating between short-term living situations. No matter our current circumstances, we are united by shared experiences and a deep commitment to walking alongside one another on the journey through homelessness.
Unlike traditional service models, Homeless Helping Homeless is built on the principle of accompaniment. Those of us who are housed or more stable act as companions and advocates, offering practical support, emotional solidarity, and a strong voice to uplift the experiences of our community. We believe in solutions that are led by those directly impacted—because those who live it know it best.
We exist not only to survive, but to support each other, challenge stigma, and advocate for systemic change. Whether it’s providing transportation, navigating resources, attending public meetings, or simply being present in times of need, our strength lies in community and shared humanity.
Homeless Helping Homeless is more than a name—it’s a movement rooted in dignity, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and housed.
