Literacy Council of Western Arkansas

Literacy Council of Western Arkansas provides adult basic literacy, English-language learning, and digital and financial literacy instruction for adult learners in Sebastian County. Official program information also describes GED-related skills and workforce-readiness learning. Enrollment, assessment, tutor or instructor availability, schedules, class format, community-site or online delivery, and program capacity vary. Workforce-readiness instruction should not be represented as guaranteed employment placement, certification, or a job offer.

The public contact office is at 25 N. 9th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Call 479-783-2665 before visiting to confirm learner intake, assessment, schedules, program locations, online options, accessibility, and availability. Tutoring may occur at community sites or online rather than at the contact office. Contacting the council does not guarantee enrollment, a tutor, a specific class, testing, certification, employment, transportation, or immediate service.
