Mama’s Kitchen offers emergency grocery assistance for San Diego County residents who are HIV positive. The program provides up to twelve weekly grocery bags during a twelve-month period. Bags contain perishable and shelf-stable foods intended to provide up to one week of groceries.
Findhelp lists San Diego County residency and HIV-positive status as eligibility requirements, with no income restriction. A County of San Diego case manager must complete the referral form and send it to Mama’s Kitchen. Supporting documents stay with the referring case manager.
Ask your County case manager about a referral, or contact Mama’s Kitchen at 619-233-6262 for current arrangements. Findhelp also lists clientservices@mamaskitchen.org for program information. Confirm eligibility, availability and collection arrangements before making a trip; this is not an unrestricted walk-in pantry.
The listed address, 3960 Home Avenue in San Diego, identifies Mama’s Kitchen’s public contact office. The map marks the building, not a pickup entrance. Office availability is separate from grocery collection; arrange service with the provider and referring case manager.
