The Mat-Su Borough Coalition is a dedicated alliance formed to advocate for sustainable, long-term community solutions to homelessness in the Mat-Su Borough region of Alaska. Rooted in core values of Advocacy, Credibility, Cooperation, and Partnerships, our coalition brings together diverse stakeholders committed to creating impactful change. We believe that by working collaboratively and proactively, we can address homelessness with effective, community-driven strategies that foster lasting stability for individuals and families in need.

Our vision is to help make the Mat-Su Borough Alaska’s most livable community—a place that is clean, well-connected, equipped with solid transportation infrastructure, and abundant with affordable housing options. We strive to create an environment where people not only want to live and work but also thrive in safe, supportive neighborhoods.

At the heart of our mission is Community Action for Housing and Homelessness Solutions. We focus on developing integrated, community-informed, and community-supported programs that prioritize homelessness prevention as a fundamental community value. By 2025, our long-term goal is to embed homelessness prevention deeply into the fabric of Mat-Su Borough’s public consciousness and social services framework, ensuring that every resident has access to stable housing and supportive resources.

Guided by principles that emphasize sustainability, credibility, collaboration, and approachability, the Mat-Su Borough Coalition continuously works to strengthen partnerships across government agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and residents. Together, we are building a proactive, informed community response that not only addresses homelessness but also enhances the quality of life for all who call Mat-Su home.
