From Crisis to Stability: Suzanne’s Journey with Ministry on the Margins
On January 13, 2017, Suzanne’s life took an unexpected turn. Like many families living paycheck to paycheck, she was just one emergency away from homelessness. When a sudden medical crisis struck, Suzanne and her family of four found themselves facing exactly that reality.
Over the course of seven challenging months, Suzanne did everything she could to keep her family together. They moved between temporary shelters—staying with friends, living in a garage, sleeping in a tent, and staying in a small hotel room—all while navigating the stress and uncertainty of homelessness.
During this difficult time, Ministry on the Margins stepped in to provide critical support. They offered stability, transportation to medical and essential appointments, basic necessities, and connections to community resources, helping Suzanne and her family survive the crisis. When permanent housing was finally secured, the ministry assisted with furniture, moving, and creating a stable home environment, ensuring the family had a fresh start.
The greatest reward of this journey is seeing families like Suzanne’s pay it forward—helping others in need, inspired by the support they received during their most difficult times. Ministry on the Margins continues to serve families facing homelessness, poverty, and crisis, offering hope, resources, and a path toward stability.
