The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the largest state agency, plays a critical role in protecting the health, safety, and well-being of residents across the Granite State. Serving individuals, children, families, and seniors, DHHS oversees programs that address mental health, developmental disabilities, substance misuse, child welfare, public health, and other essential services.
As outlined in the DHHS Roadmap 2024–2025, the Department is committed to advancing its mission through three major priorities: Invest in People and Culture, Promote Thriving Communities, and Improve Customer Service. To fulfill these commitments, DHHS has established 15 strategic initiatives and 43 measurable goals, all designed to strengthen services and expand positive outcomes for every community in New Hampshire.
These efforts are carried out in partnership with families, community organizations, healthcare providers, local and state governments, and engaged citizens. By fostering collaboration and innovation, DHHS ensures that New Hampshire remains a safe, supportive, and healthy place to live, work, and raise a family.
