Description

Located at 1208 Myrtle Avenue in central El Paso, the Opportunity Center for the Homeless provides community-based resources for people experiencing homelessness. Its work includes emergency and permanent housing options, along with solution-focused support services designed to help people move toward greater stability.

The Center offers day resource services and emergency overflow shelter, as well as transitional and permanent living facilities. Its programs recognize that people facing homelessness may have varied circumstances, including mental illness, physical disabilities, or substance-use challenges. The organization also supports housing for homeless veterans through counseling, casework, and life-skills services.

Founded in 1994, the Opportunity Center remains focused on providing shelter, support, and pathways beyond homelessness without discrimination. Learn more through the official Opportunity Center website. For additional guidance, see NHREA’s Texas homeless assistance resources and federal assistance resources.
