Description

The Presbyterian Home for Children, a compassionate ministry supported by the Presbyterian Churches of Alabama, is dedicated to providing care and support for boys and girls of all ages, as well as their female caregivers, who are facing homelessness due to poverty, abuse, or abandonment. With a strong foundation rooted in faith, the Home offers a safe, nurturing environment where vulnerable children and families can find hope, stability, and healing. The Home is proudly accredited by EAGLE, the world’s only faith-based accrediting body specializing in ministry to children, ensuring the highest standards of care and spiritual guidance.

Beyond its residential services, the Presbyterian Home for Children actively ministers to children and youth throughout Alabama’s underserved communities through impactful mission outreach partnerships. One such vital collaboration is with M.I.N.D. (Mentoring in New Dimensions), a nonprofit organization focused on empowering youth in the rural Black Belt region, specifically Wilcox and Marengo counties. Through this partnership, the Home helps provide essential resources including nutritious food, school supplies, gifts, and engaging events designed to uplift and inspire children facing hardship.

Together, the Presbyterian Home for Children and M.I.N.D. offer life-affirming mentoring and opportunities that foster personal growth, resilience, and hope among young people in these economically challenged areas. By combining compassionate care, faith-based support, and community outreach, the Presbyterian Home for Children plays a critical role in transforming the lives of vulnerable children and families across Alabama, helping them overcome adversity and build brighter futures.
