Roof Above Day Services Center

Roof Above Day Services Center, located at 945 N. College St. in Charlotte, is part of Roof Above’s community effort to help end homelessness. Roof Above formed in 2019 through the merger of Urban Ministry Center and Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, bringing together day services, housing-focused work, emergency shelter, and short-term housing resources.

Roof Above says the Day Services Center soup kitchen provides meals to anyone at the door, reflecting its low-barrier approach to helping people experiencing homelessness. The organization’s broader programs also connect people with housing assistance, employment support, emergency shelter, and permanent supportive housing.
