Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness
Description
Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness (SRCEH): Leading the Fight to End and Prevent Homelessness in the Sacramento Region
The Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness (SRCEH) is a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on ending and preventing homelessness throughout the Sacramento region. Founded in July 2013, SRCEH employs a multifaceted approach including policy analysis, community education, civic engagement, collective organizing, and advocacy to address the root causes of homelessness and promote systemic change.
SRCEH’s history is deeply rooted in community collaboration and leadership. After founder Bob Erlenbusch convened key local advocates to gauge interest in forming a coalition, the organization was officially launched. The coalition’s board is uniquely composed of individuals with lived experience of homelessness, civil rights attorneys, healthcare professionals, homeless youth and housing advocates, direct service providers, and members of the interfaith community—reflecting a diverse and inclusive leadership committed to social justice.
Since holding its first board meeting in September 2013, SRCEH has rapidly grown, supported initially by a capacity-building grant from the Sierra Health Foundation. Officially granted nonprofit status in April 2014, the organization has since become a vital force in Sacramento’s efforts to create lasting solutions to homelessness.
Through strategic advocacy, education, and collaborative partnerships, SRCEH strives to ensure that every person in the Sacramento region has access to safe, stable, and affordable housing, while fostering a community that values dignity, equity, and opportunity for all.
