Safe Harbor of Grand Traverse
Description
Safe Harbor is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to supporting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of individuals experiencing homelessness. Through compassionate care and community-driven services, we provide emergency shelter, nutritious meals, vital resources—and most importantly, hope—for those facing housing instability.
We operate a volunteer-run Seasonal Emergency Shelter during the harshest months of the year, offering a warm, safe place to sleep and access to basic necessities. In addition, our year-round Housing & Human Services Resource Center connects individuals and families with long-term support, including housing assistance, case management, employment resources, and referrals to healthcare and mental health services.
As an active member of the Continuum of Care, Safe Harbor works collaboratively with local service providers, faith communities, and government agencies to develop and implement sustainable solutions to homelessness in our region. Our mission is not only to meet immediate needs but also to empower individuals on their journey toward stable housing, self-sufficiency, and restored dignity.
With a deep belief in the power of community and compassion, Safe Harbor stands as a beacon of hope—ensuring that no one has to face homelessness alone.
