South Bay Community Services
Description
South Bay Community Services (SBCS), formerly known as South Bay Community Services, is a Chula Vista-based nonprofit serving children, youth, and families throughout San Diego County. Founded in 1971 as Our House, the organization grew from a teen drop-in center into a community-based provider offering a broad range of family and youth supports.
Services described by SBCS include early childhood and healthy development programs, children’s mental health care, youth prevention and intervention, foster-youth support, education and career preparation, domestic violence services, food assistance, and housing-related support such as emergency shelter, transitional housing, and rapid rehousing. These programs address interconnected needs related to safety, health, education, family stability, and well-being.
For broader housing and homelessness information, see NHREA’s California homeless assistance resource and federal assistance resources. Visit the official SBCS services page to confirm current program details.
