Special Service for Groups

Special Service for Groups, Inc. (SSG) is a nonprofit health and human service organization dedicated to building community-based programs for vulnerable communities. Its work includes health access and advocacy, behavioral health services, housing and homeless assistance, forensic and criminal justice support, research and evaluation, and community collaborations.

SSG’s housing and homeless services provide treatment, skills, resources, and other support for individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Its HOPICS division provides homeless services, specialized behavioral health care, and trauma recovery support for victims and witnesses of crime in South Los Angeles.

SSG’s BACUP program is a consumer-run mental health wellness initiative focused on recovery, dignity, self-determination, benefits assistance, peer support, creative activities, and skill-building groups.
