Description

For more than 120 years, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark has been dedicated to serving individuals and families in need with compassion, dignity, and respect. Inspired by Jesus’ commandment to …love one another” (John 13:34–35), love remains at the heart of all we do. Guided by faith and mission, we work side by side with clients to help them overcome life’s challenges, providing hope, healing, and opportunities for a brighter future.
Catholic Charities proudly serves people of all faiths and backgrounds, ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Through 86 programs, we provide vital support in areas such as housing, mental health, immigration, family services, and emergency assistance—impacting the lives of more than 53,000 individuals each year.
With the support of Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark, and a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and community partners, Catholic Charities continues to be a cornerstone of service in the region. Our work reflects a steadfast commitment to faith in action, ensuring that love, compassion, and service remain central to building stronger, more resilient communities.
