The Community Kitchens of Birmingham is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and food insecurity in Jefferson County, Alabama. For over 44 years, they have provided warm, nutritious meals to the unhoused, underserved, and underrepresented populations. Operating two locations, in Woodlawn and Southside, they serve meals six days a week, 313 days a year, with no questions asked and regardless of a person's situation or condition. Beyond offering sustenance, they also provide referrals to various community agencies for services like housing, healthcare, mental health, and addiction recovery, working to address the holistic needs of their guests.
