Description

Founded in 1991 by Dr. Tony Vang, The Fresno Center began by helping Southeast Asian refugees—including Hmong, Cambodian, Lao, Thai, and Vietnamese families—navigate the transition to life in the United States. Its work has grown into a broader mission of fostering cultural preservation, cross-cultural understanding, self-sufficiency, and community empowerment.

The organization offers programs addressing mental health, housing, healthcare, food security, emergency response, education, employment training, and community navigation. Its culturally responsive approach includes translation, cross-cultural services, and support from staff with linguistic and cultural knowledge spanning Spanish, Hmong, Lao, Khmer, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, and English. Learn more through The Fresno Center’s official program information.

The Fresno Center also partners with the City of Fresno and County of Fresno on mental health, community resource, and crisis-support efforts.
