Founded in Birmingham in 1944, Jimmie Hale Mission provides no-cost, faith-grounded services designed to help people move from homelessness toward stability through compassion, guidance, accountability, and recovery support.
Its services include an initial 16-week residential program with individual and small-group counseling and recovery coaching. Participants work on physical, mental, relational, vocational, and spiritual well-being, with topics such as life planning, healthy relationships, emotional maturity, parenting, and family stabilization. Additional programming addresses substance use, while education and workforce support includes adult basic education, GED preparation, workplace development, short-term certificate and industry certification training, and college enrollment.
The Mission also describes continued supportive services for graduates who remain at the Mission while beginning work or school. Learn more through the Jimmie Hale Mission’s official website. Additional options are available through homeless assistance resources in Alabama and federal assistance resources. Visit the official source to confirm current program details.
