Founded in 1893, The Meriden Humane Society is a privately operated nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter and rescue facility serving cats and dogs throughout Connecticut. The organization cares for animals from high-risk situations and those surrendered by people who can no longer care for them.
Its programs include feline and canine adoption, surrender-request guidance, and foster care. Foster homes support animals needing close observation or medical support, as well as senior animals needing retirement or hospice care. Adoption and surrender details are available through the Meriden Humane Society’s official services page.
Meriden Humane Society is funded by donations and is not affiliated with the Connecticut Humane Society or supported by state or federal funding. For related household support resources, visit NHREA’s Connecticut assistance resources and federal assistance resources. Check the official site for current program details.
