Description

The Hearth: A Legacy of Hope Since 1884
Since 1884, The Hearth has served as the oldest continually operating housing program for men on the East Coast. What began as a refuge for indigent men to socialize and find community evolved into a critical housing program, dedicated to supporting those with nowhere else to go.
Our Historic Impact in Hartford
In 1927, to meet the increasing demand for housing and employment support, The Hearth established its current home at 150 Charter Oak Avenue in Hartford. For over a century, we have remained committed to our mission.
Our Mission and Services
We have helped thousands of men find safe housing and stable jobs, providing a foundation for a new beginning. We offer support to overcome addiction and help our residents rebuild connections with their families and the broader community. The Hearth is more than a building; it is a place where men can find a path to a more stable future.
