The Village Drop-In Center for Homeless Youth
Description
The Village Family Services is a trusted nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting children from abuse, preserving families, and building stronger, safer communities across Los Angeles County. Founded in 1997 by licensed marriage and family therapists Hugo C. Villa and Irma Seilicovich, The Village was created to address the urgent lack of bilingual, bicultural social services for Latino children and families in the San Fernando Valley. Since its inception, The Village has become a leading provider of trauma-informed care and comprehensive support services for children, youth, and families in need.
Our organization offers a full spectrum of evidence-based behavioral health services for children, teens, and adults, while championing the rights and well-being of homeless youth, including LGBTQ individuals who are often underserved and vulnerable. With three welcoming locations and over 25,000 square feet of program space, The Village provides culturally sensitive foster care and adoption services, wraparound support, and a safe drop-in center for at-risk youth. Recognized for our commitment to excellence, we have earned the Human Rights Campaign’s All Children–All Families seal and were named 2020 Nonprofit of the Year for the 39th District by Assemblymember Luz Rivas.
Accredited by the International Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), The Village Family Services continues to lead efforts in ending youth homelessness, delivering high-quality mental health care, and ensuring that every child grows up in a safe, loving, and supportive environment. Our mission is to empower families, protect vulnerable children, and create lasting, positive change for future generations.
