Description

For over 62 years, Tulare Emergency Aid Council, Inc. (TEAC) has been a vital lifeline for the working poor, hungry, and homeless families in Tulare County. Founded in 1954 by the local PTA, Tulare City Schools, and a coalition of churches, TEAC was created to coordinate aid and prevent overuse of resources. Today, TEAC continues to serve a growing number of families facing unprecedented challenges due to California’s worst drought in 500 years, which has deeply impacted farmworkers and related industries. With strong community support, including major donors like Southern California Edison and Catholic Charities, and nearly 4,800 volunteer hours logged annually, TEAC provides food pantry services, client intake assistance, and essential aid to thousands. The organization partners closely with local agencies like the Salvation Army and Lighthouse Rescue Mission to extend its reach and impact.
