Brother Francis Shelter

Brother Francis Shelter is a low-barrier emergency shelter in Anchorage for adults experiencing homelessness. Operated by Catholic Social Services, it provides a setting centered on dignity, care, compassion, and movement toward permanent stability.

Services include overnight baggage storage, dinner, showers, laundry, clothing, medicine storage, guest activities, and basic medical care through the Caring Clinic. The shelter also connects guests with healthcare transportation, Medical Respite following hospital discharge, behavioral health services, and client-centered case management.

Its in-house program offers opportunities to build work and social skills through tasks that support daily shelter operations.
