Homeless Reform Project
Description
The Alone Covid 19 Gift Acceptance Policy ensures that all contributions, grants, and gifts are received and managed with integrity, transparency, and alignment to the organization’s mission. Donations are only accepted if they can be responsibly used to advance programs and services that benefit the community.
To protect both the organization and its supporters, Alone Covid 19 will not accept gifts that could compromise a donor’s financial security or create undue legal or financial liabilities. Donors are encouraged to consult their own professional advisers regarding the tax or financial implications of their contributions, as the organization does not provide such guidance.
Accepted gifts include cash and publicly traded securities, while in-kind services may be considered at the organization’s discretion. More complex contributions—such as real estate, personal property, non-liquid securities, or restricted gifts—are carefully reviewed before acceptance to ensure they are consistent with the organization’s mission and manageable under its policies.
Donors receive acknowledgment letters that meet IRS requirements, though only cash and publicly traded securities are assigned a specific value. The organization also strictly respects donor intent and honors requests for anonymity, with information shared only on a need-to-know basis among staff.
In addition, Alone Covid 19 upholds ethical fundraising practices by refusing to pay commissions, finders’ fees, or other forms of compensation to third parties for soliciting or directing gifts.
Through this policy, Alone Covid 19 provides assurance that every donation is handled responsibly, used effectively, and aligned with the values of transparency, accountability, and respect for donor intent.
