Family Supportive Housing in San José provides shelter, food, and safety-net services for single- and two-parent families with children experiencing homelessness. Its San José Family Shelter combines emergency housing with individualized support, including case management, housing and employment referrals, health services, parenting classes, and children’s homework assistance.
The organization also helps families build longer-term stability through financial literacy and job-readiness support. Workshops and one-on-one coaching address budgeting, financial goals, credit, saving, and asset building. Families who complete the shelter program and enroll in Bridges AfterCare may continue receiving support for up to 24 months.
For families at risk of losing housing, Family Supportive Housing participates in Santa Clara County’s Homelessness Prevention System, which connects qualifying residents with services such as temporary financial assistance, legal support, and case management.
