Founded in 1980 by a group of dedicated advocates and service providers, HomeFirst emerged from the urgent need to support families experiencing homelessness in Santa Clara County. Since then, HomeFirst has grown substantially, impacting over 10,000 individuals—including youth, seniors, and veterans—across Santa Clara and Sonoma counties in fiscal year 2024. Offering direct supportive services to approximately 6,000 people and providing systems leadership to thousands more, HomeFirst continues to be a vital resource in the fight against family homelessness.
