Description

Whidbey Island is blessed with a generous and tightly-knit community, dedicated to nonprofit efforts supporting our neighbors in need. Since moving here in 2014, I have been amazed by the spirit of giving—from the bridge to the ferry—that fuels the work of so many local organizations. It is an honor to serve as President of the volunteer Board of Directors at the Whidbey Homeless Coalition (WHC), where our mission centers on providing shelter and comprehensive support to those experiencing homelessness.

Providing shelter is one of the most fundamental services but also incredibly complex. Many of our guests have faced long-term struggles where ‘normal’ life no longer feels within reach. Untangling the diverse needs of our guests and helping them move forward requires a compassionate, knowledgeable, and hardworking team. I am proud to support our dedicated staff who make daily success possible for the people we serve.

Our strong and diverse board brings a wealth of life experience, committed to advancing this vital mission. As we continue striving for innovative, expanded services this year, we remain deeply grateful for the caring community that surrounds and sustains us. Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping hope and shelter alive for our most vulnerable neighbors.
